GoldFreckles was created by Saskia Thomas after discovering that many of her knitwear creations were attracting a high amount of interest and requests. Something that was born out of an hobby has now became an exciting future challenge.

From an early age, Saskia has always been creative, following her mothers & late-grandmothers lead in making, with both being skilled seamstresses. Her passion for knitwear though came when she entered further education and completed a textile degree. During which a small project on knitting got Saskia hooked, she carried on with the craft & taught herself all the techinques she uses today.

Upon leaving University, Saskia worked as a visual merchandiser, this role included specializing in a number of aspects, ranging from styling windows and mannequins to launching new products and trends.This environment enabled Saskia to nurture her creative talent further & provided the platform to express her artistic imagination that she now drums into her woolly pieces.

Saskia also credits knitting with keeping her sane during her years on the daily commute & work stresses. When Saskia is not knitting you will find her with a coffee in one hand & a welsh cake in the other.
