Say, hello to Spring 26 & a new member of the GoldFreckles pattern family, the Thank You Vest. A classic piece to add to your knitwear stack, that you will wear again & again.

I actually designed this vest years ago but it never made it to becoming an official pattern due to me being focused on my chunky wool pieces.

I decided to launch it for two reasons. Firstly the amazing popularity of the ‘Bowie Vest’ pattern that you absolutely love & secondly, every time I wear this piece on stories, I get asked if the pattern is available, so for all those lovely people here it finally is, sorry for the wait.

I called it the ‘Thank you Vest’ because of the amount of times I’ve been so thankful I packed it or had it to hand in my bag when I’ve needed it, hopefully you will feel the same when it is knitted up and becomes your favourite go to knitwear.

I am myself a self-taught knitter and I have created all my patterns with that in mind, adding extra descriptions and imagery to help guide you through the process. I use my Instagram platform to make video content that will aid you through some of the key techniques featured in my patterns. Pattern is for blocked colour version but contains colour change on rows if you want to make the two coloured stripe version (shown in light blue & putty brown).

How long will it take to knit : 16-20 hours but if you have knitted before then it could be faster.

Sizing : Pattern is available to make in eight sizes from a UK size 6-22.

Skill Level : This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques you will need to know are cast on, knit, purl, picking up stitches, decreasing stitches & knitting in the round (Neckline & Armhole Hem .

Needles : Straight Needles : Size 6 mm & 5 mm. Circular Needles : Size 5 mm 60cm.

Gauge/Tension : Approx. 14sts and 20 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm (4”x 4”) square over stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles.

Yarn : 1 x strand of bulky weight + 1 strand of lace, held together throughout make. Amounts & recommended yarns available in pattern.
